Amber is the fossilized resin of ancient pine trees. As the resin oozed out of the trees it would cover anything in it’s path – spiders, flies and many other insects have been found in amber. Amazingly more than a thousand extinct species of insects have been found in amber. To put it into context, most amber is between 30 – 90 million years old.
