Our Customised Approach

Riley & Riley can make jewellery to your specific requirements. It could be that we use an existing design, for example one of our beautiful eternity ring styles but with a stone layout that is unique to you. Or it could be a completely new design, from scratch, from idea sketches, through stone choices, right up to a stunning new piece of jewellery.

The customsides approach to bespoke jewellery by Riley & Riley

The Process

The process usually starts with a design consultation which can take up to an hour. We will have a general chat about what type of bespoke jewellery you are looking for, styles, budgets, what’s possible, what’s practical, the alternatives there may be and ultimately the piece of jewellery you’d love to own.

Sketches

The next stage (which can be skipped if you are having a unique twist on an existing design), is often ‘idea sketches’. After the initial meeting we will spend some time collating all that we have discussed and come up with a few simple ‘idea’ pencil sketches. These can be viewed and discussed in store or emailed to you.

This will usually take one to two weeks.

Design & Gemstones

Once we have agreed the design, the next stage is sometimes to go to more formal sketches or CAD designs and this will depend on the method we use to make your ring. If your piece is to have stones set, depending on the stones, this is also the stage where we will show you a range of gemstones to suit your design, from which you can choose.

At this stage we will give you a formal quote to make your beautiful piece of jewellery.

Formal sketches and CAD designs can take a further two weeks. Stone selections can often be acquired much more quickly.

Making your Jewellery

When the initial design, the formal sketch, the stone choices have all been made and the budget agreed upon we will make your unique piece of jewellery. At this stage we will require a minimum deposit of 50% of the total cost and the balance will be due on completion.

When your jewellery is ready, we’ll call you to arrange a time for collection. You will then have your lovely piece of jewellery, the satisfaction that you have been involved in the process from day one and the little bit of ‘je ne sais quoi’ that that brings!!!

Please note that any timings are approximate. Some routes to your new jewel are quicker than others and we can work to deadlines when needed. Talk to us to see what we can do for you!

Making an appointment is recommended.

Responsibly Sourced Gemstones

All our gemstones are responsibly sourced, diamonds are guaranteed conflict free via the Kimberley Process and all metals used are recycled where possible.
