Our Story

Riley & Riley was established in Ipswich in 2004 by Mark and Tessa Riley who have both been jewellers since the 1980s.

They opened their second shop in Aldeburgh on the Suffolk coast in 2013 and now work solely from their lovely boutique showroom and workshop a stone’s throw from the sea.

These days Riley & Riley is principally headed up by Mark, a qualified gemmologist and diamond grader along with the small team in Aldeburgh most of whom have been there from the start and it is this small, dedicated group that are the essence of Riley & Riley.

Riley & Riley is a traditional jewellers, one where knowledge, resourcefulness and trust are built-in. You will find almost everything you need here from the classic to the eclectic. Earrings and chains from well under £20 all the way to higher end diamond pieces, engagement, wedding and eternity rings. There’s also watch batteries and straps and small jewellery findings, such as butterflies and bolt rings.

Repairs and restorations are a big part of what they do. Whether you just need a knot removing from your chain or a complete restoration of a well loved but worn out treasure, you only need visit the one shop!

Riley & Riley offer a very personalised service. There’s no head office with lots of faceless managers, it’s just the few of us in Aldeburgh, the lovely people you meet in the shop are dealing with everything. You can be assured of the closest personal attention to your jewellery and your jewellery needs.

The biggest asset though? We actually care! Forget ‘customer service’ and ‘passionate’ and other such ubiquitous and often disingenuous terms, it really matters to us that the piece of jewellery you buy from us is perfect for you. Whether that be for yourself, or as a gift, or if it’s a repair you need doing, we give you the help and advice you need, with the experience to back up that advice.
